The Ideal Scrum Master

Only the most knowledgeable and accomplished scrum master can play his role properly between the team and the project designers; as it is not a very easy position. There is no way a sloppy person can succeed in this capacity of scrum team manager.

Again the stakeholders are the customers, and their views must not be shunted aside. On the other hand, they must not be too overbearing with the risk that they might interfere with the decisions made at scrum meetings.

The role of this person is to evaluate everything and keep all the players in a well- balanced working relationship. He must ward off unnecessary interference but also express the sentiments of the product developers to the scrum team.

The Scrum Master must be able to absorb all the details of the project plan. He does this in order to interpret it to the team at the scrum meetings by introducing discussions at the very onset of the work.

The leader acts as the important link for the team and the management. Knowing the urgency and the voracious nature of the scrum sprints, this person must do everything to protect the team from unwarranted disruptions.

Such interference may occur as a result of overzealous CEO Stakeholders or the management. For example, some of them tend to try to introduce completely new stuff that was never considered in the original picture of things. If this is allowed to go on, the time frames for the completion of the project and the estimates or costs may be negatively affected.

The Scrum Master must have the knack of picking out the right people for the team, those who are fully committed to the success of the scrum. This is because a poor quality worker lags behind at sprints and may lead to the production of substandard product. This is why it is said the right leader is the one with great managerial qualities.

The scrum is managed by the Scrum Master who must deal with the various impediments that might occur, from time to time. He wants the team to achieve its set goals. He thrashes out the work for the team and enables them to move faster and accurately. Sometimes the person is not the leader of the scrum but is the one who manages the process of production, so he manages the teams working on the project. He makes sure that the teams remain focused and able to deliver at all times. This is why it is true to describe the role of this person as the Scrum facilitator. He is the manager who is responsible for the whole production from the beginning to the end.
